Why do People Hire a Personal Trainer during the Holidays?

Why do People Hire a Personal Trainer during the Holidays?

The holidays are a busy time of the year. From visiting family to attending holiday parties, it’s tough and can be stressful. However, just because your schedule is close to full doesn’t mean you have to let your fitness goals fall.

What are the benefits of having an exercise program?

What are the benefits of having an exercise program?

Many people think that they can just go to the gym and start working out without having any sort of plan. However, this is not the best approach and can lead to more harm than good. Having a structured exercise program has many benefits that are often overlooked.

So, if you’re trying to get in shape, and are thinking of investing in an exercise program, then you are on the right path. Outlined below are some of the many benefits of having an exercise program.

1.      You Are Not Guessing if Your Program is Working.

When you try to create your own workout routine, it can be difficult to know if you’re doing the correct exercises and if they’re actually helping you achieve your fitness goals. If you were to have an exercise program that is created by a certified trainer, then you can be confident that you know that you’re doing the correct exercises because they’re tailored specifically to help you reach your goals.

2.      You are less prone to over-training and under training

One of the most common mistakes that people make when starting an exercise program is doing too much too soon. They are so excited to finally be taking their health seriously that they go all out, only to find themselves burned out and discouraged a few weeks later when they can’t keep up the same level of intensity. This is where having a structured exercise program can be extremely beneficial.

With a structured exercise program, you have a plan to follow that considers your current fitness level and gradually builds up to your desired level of intensity. This prevents you from overdoing it in the beginning and then quickly getting burnt out.

3.      You decrease your risk of injury

Another benefit of having an exercise program is that it decreases your risk of injury. This is because you are less likely to do too much too soon when you have a plan. By gradually increasing the intensity and frequency of your workouts, you allow your body to adjust and adapt so that you can avoid injuries.

You Have a Clear Timeline on How Long it Takes to Achieve Your Goals

If you’re trying to get in shape on your own, it can be tough to stay motivated when you don’t see results right away. With an exercise program, you’ll have a clear timeline for how long it will take to achieve your goals. This will help you stay motivated and on track, even when results are slow in coming.

You Get to Work with a Trainer

When you sign up for an exercise program at Perfect Form Personal Training, you’ll also get the chance to work with a personal trainer. This is a great way to get customized advice and support as you work towards your fitness goals. Your trainer can help keep you accountable and offer suggestions for how to make the most of your workouts.

What do personal trainers really do for their clients?

What do personal trainers really do for their clients?

Personal trainers are more than just workout enthusiasts. They have one of the most important jobs in the fitness industry: beating obesity and promoting health by staying up-to date with trends that will help them get their clients onto a path towards better living through physical activity.

What do you learn in a fitness class?

What do you learn in a fitness class?

There is a good deal of fitness class choices for you to try that are offered right here in Ajax, Ontario.

Do fitness classes sound like a great idea? Not sure where to start? Why not try joining a fitness class yourself?

What is the difference between our studio Perfect Form compared to a gym?

The difference between a personal training studio like Perfect form compared to a regular gym is mainly how much attention we give to our clients and members. Studios like us, focus more on helping people reach their fitness goals as compared to gyms, which typically just offer an overall facility with amenities and a whole wide range of fitness equipment such as free weights and machines to let you train by yourself.

When trying to decide between a personal training studio or a gym, there are many factors to consider such as, the location, the atmosphere, and most importantly, is training by yourself the best for you or would you like to train with other students in a class-like scene?

Most people are comfortable working out by themselves at first, but after a month or two, they usually plateau and end up coming to our studio because they end up needing someone who can guide them through their workout.

So, it’s essential to not just go with a gym that comes up on Google Maps first.

Here are a few reasons why our studio at Perfect Form may be a better fit for you compared to a regular gym!

Bootcamp classes

While personal training services and group classes are available in a gym, they often lack the sense of building a community as compared to a fitness studio that specializes in group classes.

Having a Support Group / Community

The reason why fitness studios specializing in Group Fitness draw more crowds than a regular gym is because group fitness provides the atmosphere of “motivation”. When you work out with other people, you naturally want to do more because the other person working out with you is doing the same thing.

Our classes are always coach led.

Each class is designed by a professional personal trainer who can help you reach your fitness goals. We have created all our bootcamp routines around providing a full-body workout throughout the week. So, if you join our classes at least 3-4 times a week, you can be sure that you have done your cardiovascular, strength and conditioning training!

Your workout routine is prepared for you

You’ll never think about exercise in the same way again after joining one of our classes. Each class is designed by a professional personal trainer who has your interest in mind. We have created all our bootcamp routines to help everyone execute a full body strength training workout and cardiovascular training.

Working with one of our personal trainers is like having an expert on hand to help you achieve your fitness goals. Do you lose more weight when you work with a personal trainer?

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, a personal trainer can be an invaluable asset. Personal trainers focus on each individual needs as opposed to a cookie-cutter program that is sold in mass produced books, which offers little or no personalized attention with nothing more than calorie restrictions and basic cardiovascular workouts.

But before jumping into hiring a trainer, here are a few things you should know before you book your complimentary personal training assessment with us!

Do bootcamp classes count as cardiovascular or strength training?

Do bootcamp classes count as cardiovascular or strength training?

Bootcamp trainings are a great way for people who want to do cardiovascular and strength training. Doing bootcamps as your main source of fitness is like killing two birds with 1 stone. Bootcamp workouts can vary, depending on what kind of challenge you’re looking forward to- some focus more heavily on strength & weight loss, while others provide an intense mix between aerobic activity that results in most calories burned!

Are fitness classes good for weight loss?

Are fitness classes good for weight loss?

Yes! The key to success when it comes to losing weight is a combination of good nutrition and diet, along with exercise. Joining a fitness bootcamp studio can be great for people who want the accountability that group training classes offer.

Is it worth having a personal trainer?

Is it worth having a personal trainer?

A personal trainer will help you reach your fitness goals quickly and efficiently. Studies show they can increase productivity by up 80% while still being effective at helping people lose weight, get stronger or improve other aspects such as flexibility that may be holding them back from reaching their true potential on this topic alone!

How often should you do bootcamp workouts?

How often should you do bootcamp workouts?

Boot camps are popping up all over the world, but they don’t always follow military workout routines headed by drill sergeants. In fact, without any proper standardized definitions within fitness industry a “boot camp” can refer anything from an intense exercise routine 3 days per week at home or in a gym that helps you lose weight if done correctly and depending on how much time and energy one invested into their workouts!

Bootcamp workouts are popular for a reason- they work! A genuine boot camp incorporates resistance and cardio training exercises that will challenge your entire body. It may come with many different routines, usually requiring little equipment, so you are constantly being pushed in new ways while also getting accountability from others during these tough moments of failure or success— something we can’t always depend on when exercising alone at home.

The camaraderie created by going through an intense workout together makes this type of exercise much more exciting than simply working out solo because there is somebody else looking over our shoulder asking, “how did I do?” If anything, 9+ calories per minute were burned.

So, 9+ calories per minute, how often should you do them?

You should aim for 150 minutes each week of moderate intensity workouts if you want to lose weight, but it is important that your body has time between intense sessions or 2 days will be too much. When doing high-intensity interval training (HIIT), you burn more calories than normal because they are shorter in length with less rest; accordingly, however, make sure this is not overdone as there may not always be enough recovery periods available due to the demanding nature these types of exercises pose!

Try our HIIT Tabata Class at Perfect Form.

Our Tabata is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) routine that will help you burn fat and put on muscle mass while getting faster, stronger—in just 60 minutes! It alternates between 20 seconds of intense exercise followed by 10 restful moments for 4 total minute long cycles. This type of workout can be modified to suit any fitness level, so do not shy away from giving it a try because your time constraints may allow only one or two sessions per week depending upon how much free evenings/weekends there are to make this work.

The idea of a Tabata workout is to create an intense, but quick routine that will help you burn fat and put on muscle mass. This class also gets students faster or stronger than other types of workouts while doing so!

What is the purpose of a fitness class?

What is the purpose of a fitness class?

The primary goal of a fitness class is to improve one's level of physical fitness. Fitness classes are usually designed to enhance strength, endurance, agility, speed and/or flexibility.

Classes also offer participants the opportunity to socialize with other participants before or after the class while they share their experiences or knowledge about exercise techniques or equipment usage. Participants can gain valuable knowledge by attending different types of classes offered at their gym so that they can change up their workouts periodically.

1. Some people love having someone else plan the workout schedule for them and simply enjoy getting out of the house and doing something healthy.

If you're one of those people who likes to have a plan laid out for them, then this article will be perfect! There are plenty more reasons why having an active lifestyle is important and worth striving towards.

A fitness coach-led class will not only help you work out smarter, but he or she can push you further than you might have gone when operating alone. Acknowledge the fact that when participating in athletic activities it's possible for accidents to happen even though proper precautions are being taken by everyone involved so don't be afraid to ask for help if you think there may ever come time where something isn't feeling right - I'm sure.

2. Be a part of a team

Group fitness classes are an excellent way to get in shape, increase your mood and mental health by joining a team. Studies show that just feeling like you’re part of one can make it easier for people who work out on their own because they have someone there with them during the process which gives more motivation than if no-one was watching or listening!

A fitness class is the best way to meet people who are also trying to get in shape and socialize with them at the same time rather than walking into a gym alone and going right back out when they're finished working out. Even though they're still hard work, group classes can make exercise more fun by having a chance for participants that rely on each other in order to succeed in reaching their personal fitness goals!

3. Reinforce your goals by holding yourself accountable

Showing up for a fitness class is easier said than done. You might be thinking "I'll wake up at dawn", but then reality hits and it's too late! That was an easy escape route when you don't have the motivation to get in shape- until now that could change with some friendly encouragement from others who are also going through similar struggles as well as accountability via having someone join your classes on days where they're available so there’s less risk of skipping because nothing feels better than getting back what was rightfully owed.

The plus side is that you can also share what works for you and it doesn't necessarily have to be the instructor doing all the work- they're there to help and guide you throughout your experience so don't be afraid to voice any question or concerns, either!

We are getting close…….

*Please take the 2 minutes to read this in full.*

I trust this message finds you all healthy & relatively sane during this very strange, and often difficult, time.

Just a few more pieces to put into place to ensure everybody’s safety in the studio. We know everyone is anxious to come back.  Our team will be reaching out very shortly to make that happen.  In the meantime, please read further to learn about what you can expect when you return to Perfect Form.

NEWS
:

Thank you! Your commitment to online classes and online personal training have helped a bit in paying the studio overhead bills. Along with government support this has ensured, for the time being, you will have your favourite studio to return to upon the reopening of the economy. Remember- although it might be easy to  join FREE classes from a big gym or other online hosts, supporting a small and local business may keep its doors open. Many are closing. So if you enjoyed a certain business, and its services, before the shutdown- you may not in the future if it's forced to close.

It's been so nice hearing from so many of you. And seeing your faces, if only for a moment, during classes, training or protein drop off.

The team remains healthy at this time, and misses doing what we love.

REOPENING PLANS:

We are anxiously (on so many levels) awaiting the news of when we will be permitted to open. We will know when you do. HOWEVER - we will VERY SLOWLY resume to the, hopefully temporary, new normal.

PROCEDURES:

New procedures will be strict. And with that comes a need for kindness and patience and adherence from us all. Some of the new procedures will most likely include:

1. Upon entry please sanitize your hands.  Proper sanitization and scheduling of space usage is easy to manage due to much lower volumes of people compared to big commercial gyms.

2. 2m distancing from everyone

3. Touched surfaces, weights, mats, etc will be sanitized, or disinfected between every single client. We need extra time.

SCHEDULING OF SESSIONS

Booking of sessions: this has been, and will continue to be very difficult to navigate with all trainers. I wish we had a definitive date in the future, and could get prepared. It seems as though we will have very little notice. Sessions will be 45 min, to allow for cleaning time after. Prices will remain the same. We are losing & risking so much. IF you fail to show for a scheduled session you will be charged for that session. If you give 24hours notice, you may re-schedule with the notion that you may not get in the same week due to scheduling issues.

There are people dying in the world and all I can think of is how is my business going to survive

I try to keep it In perspective but if you could understand this- my business is like my baby- I love my job and I work hard for my clients

I do anything to help my clients succeed and for me to not be able to help- in person to every client I have for the past 3 months is killing me.

I will be back. My team will be back! Perfect form will come back and work harder than ever to help and go further than ever before! But we need your help..

Stay safe and well everyone!

There are many things going on in the world today. Let’s not lose sight of what is TOP priority, our health and well being. I’m a firm believer if you are not moving and eating right your mind will not remain happy. Since the beginning of the Corona virus and COVID-19, I have been carefully monitoring the progression of the virus and closely following the advice of Canada’s public health authorities. I have followed their recommendations in my studio and I’ve wanted to keep my doors open for as long as I could but I have sadly closed for awhile until they say it is safe again. It has always been my passion to help people become and stay healthy, strong and most importantly to be around positive minds and bodies. So many of my clients, participants and trainers have inspired me and now I am at a loss to help others but I know it is necessary to close for the minimum of two weeks for everyone’s safety. I keep thinking what can I do? What can I do to HELP my clients and my class participants? I want them to keep moving and keep staying strong and keep being the best they can be. So I’ve decided to post free workouts on Facebook and Instagram to keep your stress levels low and maintain a healthy mind and body. So be sure to follow along! I may even try a virtual ETC class! I am heartbroken and sorry to all of my clients and class participants. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and for all for your support. Stay healthy and strong and always know I'm here if you need me! @ Perfect Form Personal Training Studio
